I would like to find a knit and crochet (only) online community. A group to discuss anything knit or crochet and share photos, even have a profile. I can’t find too many and the ones I do find seem to have five zillion different topic boards. I just want a simple group, with one board for all messages. Anyone one know of any like this? Thanks in advance!
Where can I find a knit AND crochet online group?

Actually, there are several in the groups on Myspace. I belong to 2 of them myself.

Also, try Yahoo Groups to see what there is (I belong to several Quilting groups on Yahoo)

What do you want to do? Most of the groups are working on something in common. I belong to two. one is for doing a knit-a-long dish cloth. They send you some of the pattern every day and they have scads of complete patterns you can get.
The other group I belong to makes things for preemie babies. They chatter back and forth all day just for company but this is a very worthwhile endeavor. -
Try the KnitTalk Yahoo!Group. They’re very nice, and definitely crochet-friendly.
You may also want to check out http://www.ravelry.com . It’s still in beta, but tons of fun to surf around.

I personally like http://www.Ravelry.com , It is in BETA right now so you have to wait to get in, but the wait is SOOOO worth it. They have patterns organized but type (like baby, child, hats/headgear or mittens/wristers) and with pictures! You can also see what other knitters/crocheters are doing with the same project (yarn differences, color differences). If you don’t know what you want to do with a type of yarn you can put it in and see what other members made/are making with it. You can get great ideas. I love that site. Maybe to much….

All the ones mentioned are good, however, don’t discount the newsgroups. The newsgroup rec.crafts.textiles.yarn (RCTY) has both knitters and crocheters.

Ravelry is a great online community for both knitters and crocheters.
Knitter’s Review is a great knitting forum and now has a section for crochet.
Craftster is another good resource that covers more than just knitting and crochet.

I belong to 2 groups on MSN….Knitting and Crocheting and Crochet for Life. Both are pretty liberal as to what you can post. K&C is the busier of the 2, but both groups have great people who answer questions and LOVE to see photos of others work.
