Question by Amber Marie: Crocheting: What is the best crochet stitch to work with clothing?
I’m looking to crochet a summer dress but don’t want something with a bunch of holes in it either, though I want to crochet it. Any suggestions on the best stitch I should use while making this dress? Thanks a bunch fellow craft junkies!

These are the sites I found and some are for children and dolls. Some are crochet{which I asked for}and others are knitted.

If you are winging it, working without a pattern, I suggest DC. It works up quick, easy to decrease and increase with, and sc to go around your edges. Also if your working in cotton remember that it will shrink so block it every-time you wash it. good luck with it.

Take your time and have fun with it.

I’m not a clothing expert, but it seems to me single crochet would be the least holes, but it also tends to be kind of stiff so I’m not sure it would drape well. Double crochet is still fairly solid and a little more flexible. No matter what you’ll probably have to either line it or wear a slip under it, so I would use whatever stitch looks prettiest.
